Aakshi 2012 – Superbly Chatoyant Honey Colored Chrysoberyl Cat’s eye New Lot

When it comes to planetary gemstones, Chrysoberyl cat’s eye takes the cake any day! It stands apart from the rest just like its planetary energy Ketu or the South Node of the Moon.

Usually fashioned as a cabochon for maximum display of its splendorous phenomenon, chrysoberyl cat’s eye also known as lehsunia, vaidurya, bidalaksh in Hindi is a translucent gem. It is also a phenomenal gem and displays an optical phenomenon called chatoyancy, where a sharp silvery white band of light runs across its surface. It mimics the effect similar to the opening and closing of the eye of a cat.

The phenomenon happens due to the interaction of light with the hollow tubular channels or silk in the crystal structure of the gem. Chrysoberyl cat’s eye comes in varying shades ranging from the pale yellow to golden yellow to honey colored to Neptune greens! The gemstone is highly effective and powerful but different individuals have varied preference with respect to color.

Bringing Hope and Dignity – Concrete Steps Towards a Genuine Cause

It was an effort that began about 6 months ago – a truly worthy cause. The Jewellers Association, Bengaluru (JAB) started an initiative to provide housing for senior citizens with mental disabilities, who are often abandoned and go through terrible times for the wont of care or attention in their sunset years.

Sai Sunshine, aptly named, was inaugurated on January 29^th, 2012 amid beaming faces and eyes lit with hope. Astro Journey and Gemstoneuniverse are happy to be associated with such a cause.

JAB already runs an initiative called Sai Vrindavan, which is also a home for the elderly and differently-abled.

Coronation of the Grandmaster of Karmic Retribution – an honor for Gemstoneuniverse

The New Year starts bringing new hopes and giving everyone a huge canvas to paint on. The old year 2011 is now past. It was an eventful year at Gemstoneuniverse with a number of achievements but the biggest feather in its cap was the phenomenal event on the December 24, 2011.

With the grace of the Almighty, Gemstoneuniverse presented a new jewel encrusted crown to Lord Saturn / Shanidev, at the Shri Shaneeshwara Swamy Sannidhi, next to the Sri Kailasha Vaikunta Mahakshethra in Rajajinagar.

The 12 feet high Imposing idol of Lord Saturn

The new crown encrusted with an exceptional Ceylonese Blue sapphire was mounted on the 12 feet high deity on the day of Shaneeshwari amavasya.

It was quite a while before Gemstoneuniverse could zero in, on just the right gem that would be befitting of the glorious deity. And when it was found – Ah! What a gem! A silky cornflower Blue color Sapphire from the Ratnapura mines was the one that finally made the cut. At 2.66 carats, the stunning gem overpowered all else to become the ‘crowing glory’ of Shani Mahatma himself.

The diety was duly decked with in the alankaar ceremony. Later, the coronation was carried out after elaborate yagnas and homas performed to Lord Ganesha, the deity only with whose blessings all good things commence, the navagrahas whose play is what we call life, and Lord Saturn himself. The coronation culminated with Guruji Shri Arnav offering the final oblations to the fire and offering the magnificent crown to the deity.

It makes us feel immensely blessed, for when one goes to a temple – offerings are made to the lotus feet of the deities, or may be flowers offered to the hands; in this case, the grandmaster of karmic retribution has allowed us the grace, to reach out and rest a crown for him! Not an everyday happening, we’d say!

As the New Year dawns, (well 2012 has been touted as a phenomenal year with doomsday prophecies and all that) I wish you tremendous enthusiasm and fire to Do More! And therefore BE more!

It is world that thrives on action. Dreams and intents are no doubt what sparks action, but this year push yourself and translate those dreams into actions. Fire the cylinders and get the machine going. Do not count how many miles you have travelled, for it’s an onward journey. Don’t get flustered if the destination does not seem in sight.

Just do more. Everyday. It’s your spiritual duty.
