How Many Treatments are applied on any Gemstone & which of them are allowed with respect to Astrology?

Gemstones are treated to enhance their appearance and to hide flaws so that they look beautiful and attractive.

There are several treatments for Gemstone enhancement. I am mentioning some of them. Itâ€™s quite possible that some if these can be applied individually and some in combination.

Majority of Gemstones are treated and are mostly consumed for commercial grade Jewelry.

In Garuda Purana, Sri Sut Ji Goswami says in the Chapter 72,

Â â€œThe Blue Sapphire subjected to heat or burning to improve color and clarity should never be used by anyone as illness and misfortune will fall on that individual who uses a heated and a burned gem.â€

For Higher Goals, Life solutions and Astrology there is no space for treated gemstones as clearly stated in the reference quote above.

It is better not to wear any gemstone rather than a treated gemstone to get a placebo effect or no effect.

The only exception to this rule is of Emerald since the most common treatment for lack of more accurate terminology in English is called as Oil Treatment.

Minor or moderate amount of oil treatment in majority of Emeralds is accepted as Emerald is most likely to damage because of its unique chemical composition.
