The prayer-meet was graced by 9 enlightened monks from 9 different nations, Guruji offered a consecration of sacred jyotish gemstones - an emerald Lord Buddha, handed over by the Chief Abbot.

Guruji’s Book- Secret of Jyotish Gems was also anointed with gold foil from the Holy Buddha and blessed by monks. On this auspicious weekend, may all receive healing and grace from the Almighty.

A glimpse from the Parivartini Ekadashi Pooja

The Ekadashi Tithi in the month of Bhadrapada, Shukla Paksha (bright phase of the Lunar cycle) is known as Parivartini Ekadashi or Parsva Ekadashi. On this day, Lord Vishnu, who is in a state of Yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra), changes his posture. Hence, it is referred to as Parivartini Ekadashi (which literally means the Ekadashi of change).

Parivartini Ekadashi Vrat Katha

The Parivartini Ekadashi Vrat Katha dates back to the Treta Yuga, when King Mahabali (also known as Bali), the grandson of Prahlad ruled the three worlds - Deva Loka, Prithvi Loka and Patala Loka. He was an Asura (demon) and yet a devotee of Lord Vishnu. He was an able king like his grandfather Prahlad who, despite being born to an Asura like Hiranyakashipu, did not exhibit demon-like traits. Once, in a battle, Bali defeated Indra (the King of the Devas) and went on to become the undisputed leader. However, the Devas knew that if the Asuras continued to rule the Universe, then the destruction of creation was inevitable, sooner or later.Therefore, the Devas headed by Indra appealed to Lord Vishnu to intervene and retrieve Deva Loka and Prithvi Loka from Bali. But since Bali was a devotee of Vishnu and a generous King, Lord Vishnu decided to test his devotion. Lord Vishnu took his fifth main avatar, Vamana (a dwarf) and appeared in Bali's court. After greeting the King, Vamana (Lord Vishnu as a young and short Brahmin boy) wondered if Bali could give him the land that he would cover thrice with his foot. And the King, who took the little boy's height for granted, agreed to provide him with the ground that he would cover in three steps. Interestingly, Bali's guru Shukracharya realised that Vamana was no one else but Lord Vishnu. He cautioned the King against the trick, but the latter refused to take back his words.

Thus, with the first step, Vamana covered the earth, with the second, he occupied the sky. And for the third step, he needed some more space. Eventually, Bali realised that it was none other than Lord Vishnu. He conceded defeat and offered his head. In the end, Lord Vishnu kept his foot on Bali's head and his body became one of Gems and Crystals and disintegrated and fell to different parts of the earth and that is how we find thr healing Gems.

On the day of Parivartini Ekadashi, devotees who keep a fast, worship the Vamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu and read this katha are blessed with health, wealth and happiness.
