Guruji Shrii Arnav is the founder of Gemstoneuniverse – the world’s largest planetary gem store that has a wide variety of precious gemstones and upratnas. The Spiritual Guru is also a prolific writer and has come out with a new book Secrets of Jyotish Gems.

He was kind enough to answer some questions about Gemstoneuniverse and his new book.

What is your background before starting Gemstoneuniverse?

I am a commerce graduate who won the coveted Competition Success Review Mr Super Brain of India contest in the year 1999. My first web page was on Yahoo Geocities, and when Yahoo Geocities closed down, I transferred all my pages to my initial website astromandir.com and was one of the first few people in India to take web-enabled payments as the internet in India was a novelty back then. My initiation into the spiritual field and Sacred Gemology was back in the early 1990s. Later I completed the prestigious Accredited Jewelry professional program from GIA (Gemological Institute of America). I then made the decision to start Gemstoneuniverse.com at the height of the 2008 financial crisis.

How many gemstones do you have on the website, and where are they sourced?

We have 20 varieties of Gemstones, and at any point of time, there will be around 2500 natural –unheated Gemstones of pristine quality. Gemstoneuniverse is at the apex of Gemstone Pipeline- meaning we source from as close to the gem mines as possible. We have Rubies from Mozambique and Burma, Natural Pearls from the Persian Gulf, Emeralds from Colombia, Zambia and Brazil, Iolite from India, Sapphires from Sri Lanka etc.

What are Jyotish Gemstones, and how are they used?

The word Jyotish is a composite Sanskrit word made of two words. Jyoti means Light and Ish means God. Hence Jyotish essentially means” Light of God”. They are healing planetary Gemstones that are capable of blessing us with health, wealth and happiness, and solving problems. These gemstones of the highest quality and purity, and lacking specific flaws, are called Jyotish Gemstones.

Professor Stephen Hawking in The Brief History of Time said that the future development of medicine lies in treatments based on light and colour, and this is exactly how Jyotish Gemstones work- via light and colour.

What does your new book ‘Secrets of Jyotish Gems’ hope to achieve?

The Indian System of Gem Prescription and use of Jyotish Gemstones is the most advanced, detailed and result oriented. Gemstones have been used for their beauty and healing powers in all civilizations since time immemorial. However, most of the methods are incomplete and use flawed, duplicate, imitation and synthetic gems which are prevalent due to lack of good information in the public domain. With my book Secrets of Jyotish Gems, I plan to bridge the gap and share this wonderful practise so all can benefit. The book is already in English, German, Hindi, and Bengali and is now being translated in 11 additional languages, and I think that itself speaks about the interest of the public in this sacred science.

What makes ‘Secrets of Jyotish Gems’ unique in the field of Astro Gemology?

This is the first standardized book on this subject that can be classified as a “near-complete” text. There are books that talk about astrology but not of gems, and then there are books about Gemology that have no content on the astrological aspect. Until now, most of the sacred Astro Gemology was passed on in the Guru-Shishya tradition – a teacher-student tradition communicated verbally with almost no documentation. This book gives serious practitioners the chance to take their understanding of Astro Gemology to an entirely new level.

Are there any new discoveries you hope to make and share about Jyotish Gemstones?

Since 1996, first under the Astro Journey umbrella and then under the Gemstoneuniverse umbrella, we have had 10 million unique exchanges with all kinds of people with unique issues and problems, and we have 1 million documented case studies wherein we were able to have positive breakthroughs and good outcomes using gem therapy and Jyotish gemstones. If you notice, Gemstoneuniverse is the only portal where you have testimonial videos of individuals with their names and official designations who can be verified on LINKEDIN and other social domains who speak and share their experience about Jyotish gemstones and gem therapy.

That being said, life is beautiful and continuously evolving, and each day we learn something new both about people and Jyotish gems – both very vast subjects. Shortly, we are going to start an Institute of Gem Therapy wherein we shall impart education and training in this field to those who are interested.
