Fathom the power of 4-6 for exceptional Time Management.
We all are Equal in the sense that all of us have been given a finite 24 hours that make our day.
However in these 24 hours each of us has different results. You are better aware of that so I will not go there.
Rather I would like to share one tip that MAY help you get better and optimum results from your 24 hours that will improve your SQ (Satisfaction Quotient) and HQ (Happiness Quotient) and help you use your 24 hours better.
So, what is the answer/ Tip.
The Answer is to make friends with Number 4 and 6 (4 is Rahu and 6 is Venus). 4 is problems, complexes, competition. (These are your friends that keep you relevant. No problems you are not required.)
No. 6 is Venus is the result of your talent, input and work. Venus is luxury, beauty, Wealth and Bhog (Material Pleasures) - If this is not what you want stop reading your post.
Go back then to the question- What do I exactly want?
Divide your day by 6 to get 4 clear segments.
24/6 = 4 segments.
Now Let us see what we can do in these 4:
Segment 1- Sacred sleep Space (3 S)
6 hours of non-negotiable sleep time.
Absolutely Shut Eye. This is the ideal amount of time where you should be totally shut off and does not include the preparatory sleeping time of 1 hour pre sleeping and the 1 hour post sleeping lethargy and laziness. Yes your head is buzzing. This repair and restrorative time is an absolute must for your strength and energy. Non negotiable time. So Unless you are a Soldier on a shift or the National security depends on you out goes the mobile. Aim at keeping your space as dark as possible to get your dose of magic.

Segment 2- Family, Dependents, Entertainment & Social obligations
Man is a social animal and these above factors give us reasons and justifications for whatever we are doing. Remember you have a dedicated 6 hours to this segment so give a dedicated time and involvement. Finish taking care of dependents and their needs. attending functions happy or otherwise, community activities and worship, Food, entertainment in this time. You have an entire 6 hours for yourself. Commuting is a complex thing as you navigate through the maze of traffic and a buzzing mind while keeping your emotions and temper in control. If your commuting is taking 3 hours of this segment- Now you can make better decision about your location.

Now we are reaching segment 3 and we haven't started talking about Work Yet.
This Segment is called as Personal and Communications Time. Dedicate time for personal development, religion and spirituality, special occasions, meditation, learning a new skill or a hustle, giving time to pets, personal indulgence and hobbies. networking and social media etc. Read a book or watch a movie/ show( different from entertainment in segment 2). This is also the segment of future plans and hopes and endevours. Creative initiatives also come here.
18 hours of your time is not utilised and covers most of the stuff. The above is an umbrella but what is not written you will be able to fit in the above 3 I am sure of that.
Now we come to the final segment- Karma- Work- Action- The one that fuels the above 3. For most this segment pervades the above 3 where it should not. I hope you have more clarity now.
Segment 4- Your professional time that engages your skills and talents and gets you money/ revenue/ recognition in return.
This is the segment that defines you and provides the fuel for all other activity. Karma or action. Whether you like it or not after answering/ introducing yourself by name the second question is what do you do? Your work is your identity or respect.
So you must be true to it because see the activities above it is blessing you with. Give your best effort and undivided attention to this. You make compromises with this.. You compromise your life.
Be true to it. Whether you are an employee or an entrepreneur earn your bread fairly and squarely and give 10 times what you are getting (Not just in terms of monetary value but the privileges of the 3 segments above). A short cut or a compromise here and then all segments mix up again. Overwork or underwork- Work becomes the bane and the Good Lord does not like it.
Now taking it to another level- These are the 4 pillars of Dharma( Righteousness), Artha( Material Acquisitions) , Kama( Material, intimate and sensory Pleasures) and Moksha ( Spiritual development and liberation). So that takes care of the number 4- Rahu and Higher Ideals.

2 weeks back I was supposed to take a workshop on digital marketing for one of the leading Creative firms in Asia. I was given a team consisting of 10 brilliant individuals whose sole goal was to increase the sales of the digital product.
My first tip to them was: You are on a average spending 8 hours per day. So among the 10 of you.. all combined you are spending 80 hours per day for one single goal keeping functions apart. Tell me what did 80 hours of productivity achieve? Was it really 80 hours of concentrated work? Make a list of what did 80 hours produce?
Answer objectively: Are you getting the results and returns of 80 hours per day?

I told them that the workshop was over much to the surprise of the Senior manager. The result by day 6 or 7 these folks knew what to do and the engine and the bogeys are moving full steam.
I am aware that this is a not a perfect world and despite all your explanations the 46 blueprint of work- life balance is the ultimate template. even with a 25% deviation( a full quarter per day.. Yes per day) you will be a super speed super performer.
Remember the person who tries to speak to all speaks to no one, the person who tries to please all.. pleases nobody and the person who tries to do all .. does nothing.
Rapidly changing world.. Keep yourself relevant.
Try the 46 template from today as it is a new month. I wish you well and hope you get a better deal from life because you deserve it.
