Consistency Vs Intensity:
Today's energy needs this contemplation and the question to ask today is:
Am I consistently showing up?
Our body is a remarkable unit that performs several functions with remarkable consistency.
You know what I am talking about.
But the tendency of Man is not to appreciate, ignore what is easily available.
Out of our 6 cognitive channels 5 make our life fairly uncomplicated and are a big asset for day to day living.
These 5 are:
Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Body
What is experienced by these 5 are sent as signals to the 6th- The Mind and here is where the big game lies.
Ask yourself this question
Is comfort the enemy of progress?
I do not think so. This lie has been pedalled since eons to create a perception that hard work is directly proportional to success.
It is not.
But this lie has a profound truth hidden in it and that is the power of consistency.
Consistency requires showing up every single day even when you are bored, not feel upto it or even if it drives you to the point of discomfort.
That your cooking stove burner produces fire and heat day in and day out provided cooking fuel is adequate is consistency.
That you can ramp up the fire and heat is intensity.
Consistency is akin to Discipline
Intensity is akin to Motivation
In the Game of Life Discipline always wins.
Most of the Motivation like fad diets, exercise plans, study schedules peter down in intensity by week 6.
Exercise
Keep a diary/ Journal and make an entry in it every single day for 3 minutes for 60 days. Write what you want but better still if you write down the activities that take you closer to your goals that will be great.
Statutory Warning: Just 3 minutes not less not more for 60 days. Let me know what happens
