“The Coin Has Two Sides, but Only ONE Value”  - The choice between Fate & Freewill is a dangerous one- Are you equipped  - Fate Vs. Freewill 3.0

Good Morning and Have a Great day ahead. May I Gently remind you that All my thoughts that I share are real life interactions with regular folks just like you and me on a day today basis. Just as you will see in this post and some of the participants of Yesterday will attest - Sigh. And that is The Gemstoneuniverse advantage - Everything presented to till date- Is Factual, Real and Lived Through.

Life often presents us with choices that seem as simple as flipping a coin—two sides, two paths, and the illusion that they are equal in weight.

We’ve all heard the saying, “Every coin has two sides.” -Har Sikke Ke Do Pahlu hote Hain.

It’s a convenient way to explain duality—good and bad, light and dark, war and peace. But is that all there is?

Do we settle for this rather simplistic view, or do we dare to go deeper and find the true essence of value behind those sides?

Allow me to share this by a real world situation and an example occurring now:

Take, for example, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Some will argue that both nations have justifiable sides to the conflict, each with its own grievances, narratives, and historical precedents.

A classic two-sided coin situation. But as we dig deeper, we realize that regardless of the side you take, the consequence is singular: human suffering, destruction, and a world thrown into uncertainty.

Here, the coin’s value—what it buys in the real world—becomes the ultimate truth, transcending the argument of sides. It doesn’t matter which side you support; the outcome, the pain, is undeniable and universal.

The Story of Choices and options -From my case Files

Now let’s consider a situation of a young man named Arjun, who is at a crossroads in life.

Raised in a small, sheltered environment, his decisions have always been simple.

But as Arjun steps into the wider world, he is suddenly faced with more complex choices—should he pursue material success or spiritual growth? Should he follow societal expectations or carve his own path?

Like many, Arjun is initially drawn to the idea that life is about navigating dualities. He believes that the coin can only land on one side or the other.

But as his experiences grow, Arjun begins to realize that the true test lies not in the choice itself but in understanding the underlying value of his decisions.

It is not about choosing one side; it is about understanding the consequence of his actions and how they will shape his life.

His journey reveals that the world is not simply divided into binaries—there is a deeper, unchanging value that transcends the surface.

Whether Arjun chooses materialism or spirituality, the real question is: What will his choice yield? What is the true value that he can extract from his actions, regardless of which path he takes?

The Role of Responsibility and Power in Decision-Making

Failure is Better than Success:

When one holds great power or knowledge, the consequences of their choices are amplified.

A person with deep knowledge of acupressure, for example, has the ability to heal or harm with a mere touch—similarly, someone with a gun or a doctor in a complex situation carries immense responsibility for their decisions. Success, too, carries this weight.

Those in the Know will Know that one with deep knowledge of meridians in the body can take a life or give a life just by a light press at a particular energy point-Yes.

During times of failure, we are often in a constant state of action, trying to overcome adversity.

Failure pushes us into a constructive mode, encouraging growth and learning.

But in moments of success, there is a greater danger. The sweetness of success can cloud our judgment, inflating the ego and causing us to lose humility.

Decision-making becomes less sharp, and one can easily be swept away by the heady taste of achievement.

As I often reflect, “One should be more wary of success than of failure.” The caution here is clear—success can lead to complacency, and the moment you lose your humility, your ability to make sound decisions diminishes.

The true test of success is how well one maintains clarity, responsibility, and groundedness when everything is going well.

The Role of the Nine Planets

In the cosmic dance of the nine planets, we see this play out continuously.

Each planet offers two sides—one that pulls us toward constructive decision-making and one that leads us astray.

Yet, beyond these dual forces, there lies a singular value: the lessons and consequences that shape our destiny.

The Sun: On one side, it symbolizes clarity in decision-making, responsibility, and acting for the greater good. On the other, it represents ego, self-centeredness, and decisions driven by personal gain.

The Sun’s true value lies in the consequences of our choices—whether we illuminate the world or cast long shadows over it.

The Moon: One side reflects emotional nourishment and intuitive wisdom, while the other amplifies confusion and instability.

The Moon’s value is in the emotional tides it sets in motion, shaping our inner world and how we affect others.

Mars: On one side, Mars is courage, strength, and the pursuit of justice. On the other, it is aggression, anger, and conflict.

Its value is determined by how we wield our inner fire—do we create or destroy?

Mercury: Mercury offers intellect, communication, and adaptability on one side and manipulation or deceit on the other.

Its value is in how we use our intellect—whether we clarify or confuse.

Jupiter: Known for expansion and wisdom, Jupiter presents one side of growth and higher knowledge, and another of overindulgence or moral superiority.

The true value of Jupiter’s influence is in how we expand our consciousness—do we elevate ourselves and others, or do we inflate our egos?

Venus: Venus offers the duality of love and beauty, contrasted with vanity and superficiality.

Its value is in how we build connections that enrich our lives or erode them.

Saturn: Saturn’s two sides show discipline, patience, and responsibility on one side, and hardship, limitation, and fear on the other.

The value Saturn brings lies in how we respond to challenges—whether we grow through discipline or succumb to despair.

Rahu: Often associated with ambition and illusion, Rahu can lead to transformative growth on one side and obsessive materialism or delusion on the other.

Its value is in how we navigate desires—whether we use them to evolve or let them consume us.

Ketu: Ketu presents spiritual liberation and detachment on one side and confusion or aimlessness on the other.

The value of Ketu’s influence is found in whether we achieve enlightenment or lose our way in detachment.

Each of the planets acts as a cosmic coin, offering us choices.

Yet, the true essence lies in the inherent value they bring. The consequences of our decisions—whether born from wisdom or ignorance—define our path, not fate, but free will.

 The Cornerstone of Decision-Making

At the heart of all decision-making lies two important principles. The first is to understand the horizon of your life experience. Are your choices drawn from a broad, enriched perspective shaped by the experiences of many, or from a limited, narrow viewpoint?

The wider the horizon, the better equipped you are to see the value behind each side of the coin.

The second cornerstone is practicality. Every decision requires skills like prioritisation, understanding the greater goal, and adapting to the context—whether in conflict or in calm.

Just as the planets continuously offer choices between dualities, we, too, are given countless opportunities to act from free will.

 What is Bad Luck?

Bad luck is nothing but the consequence of bad choices—an unfortunate outcome of misinterpreting life’s principles, like reducing everything to a simplistic two-sided view.

 Free Will over Fate

Enough of blaming your fate. Life is not a coin flip decided by chance. The consequences you experience are born from the choices you make.

Fine-tune your decisions and elevate your free will by stepping out of your comfort zone, learning from real-life experience, and broadening your horizon.

The universe offers you choices at every turn; it’s up to you to make the right ones, not by defaulting to the simplistic view of fate, but by actively engaging with the complexities of life.

Stick your neck out, embrace responsibility, and make the choice to learn, grow, and transcend. Free will is your greatest asset—use it wisely.

As the Bhagavad Gita reminds us, “You have the right to perform your duty, but not the fruits of your action” (Bhagavad Gita 2.47).

So act with intention, take responsibility for your decisions, and let the value of your choices speak for itself.

Nine Contemplations to Elevate Your Free Will:

1. Reflect on your daily decisions—are they driven by ego or by wisdom?

2. When you succeed, remain grounded by remembering what brought you there.

3. In moments of failure, embrace action as the pathway to growth.

4. Consider the broader impact of your choices on others—are you acting for the greater good?

5. When faced with duality, ask yourself: What is the deeper, universal value at play?

6. Remember that the consequences of your choices define your destiny, not fate.

7. Revisit your life experiences and broaden your perspective—are your decisions limited by a narrow view?

8. Embrace responsibility in every action, especially when you hold power or influence.

9. Explore the teachings of the planets and apply their lessons in your life—seek growth, balance, and enlightenment.
