Happy National Youth Day: Lessons from the Life of Swami Vivekananda Ji from the Eyes of Guruji Shrii Arnav & the 9:12 way
Good morning, and wish everyone a very Happy National Youth Day!
The Indian government in 1985 declared the Gregorian calendar birthday of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day.
Swami Ji was forever young and forever new
He lived young, ascended to the heavens young, and at a very young age set a benchmark not just for the youth but for the entire world to follow and emulate.
Most people recognize Swami Vivekananda for his iconic opening speech at the World Congress of Religions in the United States, beginning with “My dear brothers and sisters.”
This simple yet powerful address broke the so-called wall of courteous distance by uniting humanity as brothers and sisters.
That simple gesture led to an applause that still resonates, showing how a young man from India made a profound impact during a time when the country was considered backward, and people of color faced discrimination.
But the most profound memory I have of Swami Vivekananda’s life was his unwavering devotion to Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa, despite being from an aristocratic and well-educated family.
Known as Narendra in his earlier days, he was drawn to the worship of Kali and the service of his guru-Swami Ramakrishna, suffering from throat cancer in his final days, refrained from interactions to avoid spreading infection.
Yet, Vivekananda was determined to serve his master.
One day, against Swami Ramakrishna’s wishes, Vivekananda entered his personal chamber during meditation and asked, “Master, what mistake have I made that I have not received initiation from you?
Am I so small or unworthy?” Why have you forbidden me to enter the chamber and do your service/ Seva
Swami Ramakrishna responded by asking him to open his mouth and spat into it.
Observing his reaction, Swami Ramakrishna saw Vivekananda accept it without disgust or revolt.
At that moment, the realization dawned that the teacher and disciple, though two bodies, are one soul.
Swami Vivekananda’s youthfulness, grace, and profound impact on Indian and Western thought alike can only be described as divine. His every action and word carried a flow that aligns closely with the Guruji Shrii Arnav 9 by 12 way.
At many places where I visit some of the people record and try to emulate everything. Such is the divine flow . The same was for Swami Vivekanananda and I am just blessed to be a part of it.
Special Gratitude to Avadh Ojha Sir . This small clip is profound and I am very happy that besides becoming IAS officers with Help of Avadh’s Sir coaching and Guidance- They have access to his profound knowledge and wit and of course courage that makes them true well rounded citizens besides IAS officers.
Two or three years back because of a sudden trip to Vietnam I recorded a hurried video on the Valentine's day in which I conducted the Radha Krishna Kriya.
That was my commitment to love or universal love and nobody knew that it was not live and as the Radha Krishna Kriya was playing in three or four different versions of humans of gemstone universe including one in Bosnia,
I boarded a train for a brief while in Vietnam. A very diminutive old lady of Austrian Descent with white curly hair holding a stick and barely able to walk looked at me very fondly and had tears in her eyes and she called me by the name Vivekananda.
I have finally found Vivekananda she said and as I sat across on a berth in the compartment I could see her hands shaking trying to find out something from the wicker basket and what do I see?
I see a flask and a plastic cup coming out and she asked me Vivekananda will you have tea from my hands and my reply to that was of course mother I think I am famished a cup of hot tea would get me going in no time.
Around that time a fine gentleman of around 55 or 60 ( Her Son) entered in a three-piece suit and very gently sat down next to me and told me excuse me my good sir I apologize if any inappropriate gesture has been made by my mother but you see she is from suffering from dementia and because of the combined effect of old age and dementia she sometimes speaks things which are not making any sense.
To which I replied I think she makes perfect sense and it is after a long time that somebody has called me by a name so dear.
At the next station as I stood up to leave ,her shaking trembling hands held my index finger and said Vivekananda I am still practicing Rajyoga is that correct?
To which I replied mother you have already reached the stage of Hamsa Yoga indicating that she has received the supreme sublime knowledge by her service.
Then Again - Around two or three years back at the height of the pandemic our team along with other residents of the residents welfare association assisted in organising a vaccination camp for the poor at the Vivekananda park and this is a very fond memory because it is activities like that this that indicate that the youth is still living and the youth still have consciousness.
This day is dedicated to the youth but youth not just youth not just by belonging to a particular age group it is the spirit of youth that keeps the world functional onward positive in an upward trajectory
If your spirit is youthful you will always have a better a quality of life and also a life that is meaningful and with purpose.
All over the world -I am very thankful that the young people connect with me and look forward to my inputs.
The Hindi word for the youth is called as Naujavan and let me tell you let me walk you through with the Guruji Shrii Arnav 9 by 12 away what should be the essential qualities of the youth and the youthful spirit.
I am here not to give you advice I am just here to share with you what I have gained from my teachers and fellow spiritual brothers and sisters I have a sense of duty and I will complete it and that is how the flame of knowledge will keep burning throughout the ages.
So the journey of Vivekananda as per the Guruji Sri Arnab 9 by 12 way is the journey from Naujavan which means the youth to Bhagwan to the all-knowing all-powerful God
The Guruji Shrii Arnav 9 by 12 Way for the Youth
Let me share the nine essential qualities of the youthful spirit as per the Guruji Shrii Arnav 9 by 12 way.
These traits, paired with their Hindi translations, outline the stages from being a youth (Naujavan) to reaching a higher spiritual consciousness (Bhagwan):
From Naujavan To Bhagwan to Ruling the Vartaman- The 9:12- The Guruji Shrii Arnav’s way:
1. Dhairavan (धैर्यवान) – Impeccable patience.
2. Cheshtavan (चेष्टावान) – Striving positively despite challenges or fears.
3. Charitravan (चरित्रवान) – Maintaining impeccable character and integrity.
4. Gunavan (गुणवान) – Having sterling qualities that enrich life.
5. Ujjavan (उज्ज्वान) – Exuding infectious, positive energy.
6. Chalyaman (चल्यमान) – Always moving forward in a positive direction.
7. Dhanvan (धनवान) – Blessed with both spiritual and material abundance.
8. Gyanvan (ज्ञानवान) – Continuously seeking and sharing knowledge.
9. Ashavan (आशावान) – Ever hopeful, inspiring hope in others.
These nine stages lead the youth (नौजवान) to Bhagwan (भगवान), the all-knowing God.
The twelfth stage is mastering all these qualities and staying fully present in the moment (वर्तमान).
