Carat to Carat, size to size, the most expensive gemstone in the world Today is the green colour stone of the messenger of God's- Mercury-Emerald.
How rare is the emerald?
To get 1 carat size of Gem quality, read carefully- Gem quality emerald, you have to mine and process 5 tonnes of ore.
There are two vital facts on which the emerald price depends:
First is the colour, the brighter and deeper the colour, and more closer to the original Green, the higher the price.
The second factor is clarity. Emerald is usually an included stone due to the presence of branch like structures called as Jardines- French for Garden.
The other day. I saw beautiful painting, where the background was green.
