Why Do We Light Lamps and Brighten Our Homes on Diwali?
Diwali falls on Amavasya, the moonless, darkest night of the year.
Lighting lamps and creating colorful, vibrant displays isn’t just about tradition—it’s a powerful symbol of the human spirit’s triumph over all odds, a beacon of hope in the darkest of times.
As we light these lamps, we remind ourselves, our loved ones, and future generations that where there’s faith and will, there’s always a way forward.
Even amidst the dark, brightness resides in the heart of every human being.
Today, this sacred Amavasya is blessed by Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth. There’s a unique time, known as Maha Nishakal, when the Divine Mother blesses the homes of her devotees, bringing prosperity that will last until the next Diwali.
May Mother Lakshmi fill not only your home but also your heart with her divine gifts, attracting abundance and the right people into your life.
Just moments ago, I had the honor of worshipping and caring for a beautiful cow who graced us with her presence at Gemstone Universe.
In her, I saw a symbol of purity and grace, much like the blessings of the Goddess herself.
